Matthew Barnes started his career by playing with local punk bands in Liverpool, but saw real success as a producer of multi-threaded electronics. His creativity, acclaimed by both critics and listeners, draws upon various inspirations. Forest Swords’ wide musical background ranges from hip-hop, Björk, to R&B and – above all – pitch-black dub. His extremely consistent and captivating sound structures made their way to his debut album entitled ‘Engravings’, which was released in 2013, while his following album, entitled ‘Compassion’, was released in May 2017.
