A Senegalese-German band that combines progressive electronics with the influences of traditional and contemporary West African music. Mark Ernestus, well known for his work with ‘Basic Channel’, ‘Rhythm & Sound’ and ‘Maurizio’ is the mastermind of the project. His twelve-piece band plays together across the Berlin-Dakar axis. Thanks to this intercontinental cultural exchange, unique recordings are being created in which you can hear Berlin’s precision in electronic sound editing as well as the spontaneous, unconstrained pulse of the streets of Dakar. Their rhythmic freedom and sound mastery generates a musical mix that leaves no one indifferent.
